would you rather

Would you rather have the resources to pursue anything you want but have no idea what you truly want? or have very limited resources but a clear idea of what you truly want? If you are able to decide and be satisfied with your answer, you’re either a prodigy with everything figured out (debatable) or just a commonplace joe with nothing inspiring or worth working towards in life. Unfortunate for the majority of us being the latter, sometimes we think we’ve found something to work towards but then it eventually results to burnout and discouragement along the way. Us who strive just to achieve mediocrity are bound to get stuck in our insecurities for most of our life. We’d choose the path with a safety net, for the false pretense of second chances because we always somehow believe that we might not make it. We’re just never the best among our peers and anything we can achieve is undermined and considered a ‘given’ by societal standards. We are interested in so many things but not awarded the intelligence or the leisure time to master any of them. So painfully average and uncreative, bound to envy the above average and the below average for different reasons. Maybe at some point let’s start choosing the high risk paths, if we couldn’t make it then we try again and try harder. As they say, better to burn out rather than fade away.
